Heart problems in women: are the symptoms typical? Show summary
A female patient suffering from stomach, chest, and throat pain is diagnosed with gas. Unhappy with this diagnosis, the patient decides to get a second opinion from a cardiologist. The cardiologist performs an EKG and a stress test and determines that there is an area of the heart that is not getting appropriate blood flow. These are far from the classic symptoms of heart problems, but in female patients the symptoms of heart problems can easily masquerade as symptoms of something else.
